Resolved Question: Why aren't North Korea and South Korea members of the UN?

I thought North and South Korea were countries. Don't you have to be a member of the UN to be a "real" country? @ can't learn... (maybe you should just abbreviate your name to that) North and South Korea are NOT members of the UN. http://www.un.org/en/members/index.shtml Thanks! I can see them now, listed under the names DPRoK and ROK. But, the People's Republic of China was simply listed as "China" not PRC, so I thought they'd be listed as "North Korea" and "South Korea". My humble apologies (especially to "can't learn..."; even though the "troll" comment was uncalled for). I'm still learning. Haha. What about that comment concerning a border dispute. Are they still technically at war with each other? I still find it interesting how the UN can allow two Koreas that appear to haven't formally separated, but only "One China". This is weird stuff.
